In abit of an Iphone 4 sinarieo...?

Well i was in my local lastnight and there was a guy at the bar who has been in there a few times and said to me that he will sell his iphone to me for £50 and a few drinks for the rest of the night! So i handed over quick £50 notes and left the bar! I woke up this morning to find that the Iphone had "no service" i then thought it was either a lost/stolen phone and the owner had it cut off and this guy from the pub had ripped me off! well after speaking to my mates they said if it was lost/stolen the IMEI would be blocked, TRUE? and to go to http://www.amta.org.au/pages/amta/Check.the.Status.of.your.Handset where i typed in the IMEI code to find it was unblocked! strange!

does anybody know any other sites where i can check it? or does it take a few days to update? or have i actually got an IPHONE for £50 and ok for me to use?

thanks

What is a VPN?

VPN is (Virtual Private Network) were first used by companies to enable their employees to securely access internal systems such as email remotely (e.g. from home or while on business trips). Today they are increasingly being used for personal use by individuals to protect their privacy while online in public places (e.g. when using the wi-fi connection in a cafe) or in a country where the internet is censored / blocked (e.g. China, Saudi Arabia).
