How do i remove active x controls from my computer?

I instaled and active x control on my computer from the adobe website the other day and ever since my internet is being slow and i cant load pages i have to keep refreshing them.Ive looked on the microsoft website and it didnt help very much i couldnt understand there instructions.Its macromedia flash player 9.How do i remove it plz?
